- An official English translation of Policenauts was announced for release on the Sega Saturn in 1996 in North America. It appeared in catalogs with promotional box artwork, but the game never materialized. Kojima discussed making an English translation three times, but encountered translation difficulties.

The third and final console port of Policenauts, the Saturn version adds the option to use a light gun during shooting sequences and a handy glossary for looking up in-universe terminology, along with other improvements and additions over previous console versions. Like the PlayStation version, it also has a fan-translation.

CD Data Track Warning
Policenauts contains a CD data track warning as track 2. Like Snatcher and Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo on the PC-Engine, this is a custom warning featuring the voices of the game's characters—specifically Jonathan, Ed, and Victor.
