Direction:

-In pot,add water,barley,wheat and bring it to boil,let it simmer for 30 minutes.

-Add baking soda,cover and cook till tender (approximately: 1 & ½ hour).

-In wok,add oil,ginger garlic paste,boneless chicken,fry until it changes color.

-Add red chili powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,green chili,salt,yogurt and cook until chicken is done.

-Blend barley and wheat mixture until smooth,add cooked chicken and chicken cubes,mix until well combined.

-Add salt and boiled water if haleem is too thick (optional) and blend again.

  • 2Lemons
  • 2Eggs
  • 1cup Corn flour
  • 2cups Plain flour
  • 1tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1/2tspRed food colour
  • 1/2 tspCinnamon powder
  • 2tbspGarlic paste
  • 4tbspRed chilli powder
  • 4tbsp Olive oil
  • oil for frying
  • salt to taste
  1. Cut chicken into eight large pieces with the skin intact.

  2. In a small bowl, combine together the lemon juice, red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, olive oil and salt and fill in to a syringe.


  3. Marinate chicken pieces with ginger garlic paste and salt to taste.

  4. In another bowl, combine plain flour and cornflour together.

  5. Dip chicken in beaten eggs and coat with plain flour.
  6. Repeat process by dipping each chicken piece in egg followed by plain flour again.


  7. Fill the chicken with prepared spice mix with a syringe.

  8. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat and fry chicken in a covered pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Al Baik Chicken is ready to be served.

  1. You can use self-raising flour instead of plain flour to coat chicken.
